American hard dance producer Death Code, formerly known as Skellism, and Australian hard dance producer DVRGNT have come together to create a melodic rawstyle track entitled “Alone” featuring Indonesian R&B singer Reikko on vocals. They are self-releasing the track today!
The track opens with a metallic-sounding kick and Reikko’s vocals before fading into a rock-influenced guitar riff and drum pattern. Reikko’s voice saying, “I want you out of my sight tonight” has an airy quality to it that is reminiscent of Ellie Goulding. The first drop has euphoric hardstyle elements in it with bright-sounding synths and traditional kicks. The last drop starts out like the first, before switching to a rawstyle drop with distorted kicks and sawtooth synths. “Alone” is a great combination of Death Code’s darker style with DVRGNT’s happier, lighter style.
According to Death Code: “Me and DVGRNT have been wanting to collaborate for quite some time now. We finally came together to make a song that matches both of our styles. Reikko did an amazing job with her vocals and it goes perfectly with the chill rock drums on the breaks.”
DVRGNT had similar sentiments about the track: “Death Code and I came together to create a track that will not only get you in the feels but also melt your face off. Reikko’s powerful vocals create a vibe that will leave a smile on your face for days on end, which is complemented by a powerful yet catchy melody. Then we thought how can we turn this track on its head to make everyone scream… the last drop speaks for itself.”
