Insomniac Records Highlights EDC Week

Article by: Sam Wolloch

So begins one of my favorite weeks of the year, EDC Week! The main event, of course, is scheduled Friday October 22 through Sunday October 24. If you still don’t have tickets, there are some smokin’ deals going on right now through a promotion with the Marijuana brand RNBW.

This year, EDC Week runs from Wednesday October 20 through Tuesday October 26 featuring over 60 artists and 40 events at 17 different venues. There is most definitely something for everyone.

Festivities begin with a midday pool party this Wednesday October 20 at Marquee Day Club headlined by Dom Dolla, and EDC Week ends with a special Techno Taco Tuesday with Who Made Who at Lucky Day. For a full rundown of EDC Week events, click here.

The EDC Week show that really caught my eye is the Insomniac Records Thursday afternoon pool party at Encore Beach Club. Starting at 11am, the lineup is stacked with familiar faces on Moon Lvnding from their popular Insomniac Records releases.

Headlining the show is the scorching hot John Summit and Moon Lvnding detailed his hit track “Make Me Feel.” Another Insomniac Records mainstay is Matroda, who dropped several big tunes, including last summer’s catchy single “If You Wanna.” Also starring is my personal hometown fave, New York City’s own Westend. We covered his Insomniac Records debut of “Prickly Pear” as well as his Collide EP.

Moon Lvnding also had the scoop on both sides of the scheduled B2B, highlighting LP Giobbi’s funk house single “Move Your Body” and Born Dirty’s feel-good song “Happy.” The all-star house lineup is rounded out with sets by Honeyluv and Noizu. This is the can’t miss pool party of EDC Week.

Here are my picks for the 11am events during the rest of EDC Week:

Friday October 22

Dreamstate Pool Party at Elia Beach Club featuring Cosmic Gate and Markus Schulz

Saturday October 23

Anjunafamily Reunion Tour at Elia Beach Club with Fatum and Above & Beyond

Sunday October 24

Black Coffee at Wet Republic and Dillon Francis at Encore Beach Club

Hopefully this article is of some help as you make your plans for the remainder of EDC Week. Whatever choices you make, be sure to stay safe and enjoy the splendor of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Electric Daisy Carnival.
